Modern Deck Skirt with Hidden Storage Access

The homeowners wanted to improve the appearance of the underside of their elevated deck without sacrificing access to the valuable storage space beneath it. We designed and built a custom skirt system that transformed the exposed framing into a clean architectural feature while maintaining serviceability.
Each support frame was individually fabricated to accommodate the existing structure, allowing the finished panels to align cleanly with the deck and stair assembly. Horizontal composite cladding and carefully planned trim details create a modern appearance that complements the home's exterior and existing aluminum railing system.
The finished result hides the structural framing, protects the storage area below, and gives the deck a finished appearance from every angle—turning what was once an exposed crawlspace into an intentional extension of the home.
