Custom EV Charging Enclosure

My electric vehicle charges overnight, but because it can't fit inside the garage, I was forced to leave the garage door partially open every time it was plugged in. Besides inviting insects and small animals into the garage, it never felt like an ideal long-term solution.

To solve the problem, I designed and built a custom exterior enclosure that mounts directly to the garage. The weather-resistant cabinet stores the charging connector when not in use while allowing the charging cable to pass through from inside the garage. This simple addition allows the garage door to remain completely closed while the vehicle charges outside overnight.

The enclosure was built to complement the home's exterior using matching materials, trim details, and paint, creating a solution that feels integrated rather than added on. While designed for my own home, the same concept can be adapted for virtually any EV owner looking for a cleaner, more secure, and more weather-resistant charging setup.
